Why is it illegal to practice polygamy, but legal to have a wife and mistress and to father children with several women at once? I am absolutely not a polygamist, neither by ideology nor by practice. Nor do I have any mistresses. I am a blissfully happily married man blessed with one sublimely lovely [...] There really is nothing quite like the sensation felt when someone whom you love and respect takes a swipe at your core beliefs. [...] I found myself wondering today how my family will turn out when they’re all grown up. Will they be happy? Will they like each other? Will they keep in touch? Will they marry good people and make good marriages? Will they be good parents? Will they be good citizens? Will they find good occupations [...] I was off work and the kids were off school today, so we all went downtown to Salt Lake City and had lunch with my folks. They’re serving a mission in the Family History Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dad does Worldwide Support for the Indexing service, and Mom [...] Carter plays guitar. He took some group lessons via the community education program thing last year, but got a little overwhelmed and quit going. But he kept at it, practicing, and exploring. His cousin, Jaycee, is taking guitar lessons, too, and has really helped Carter explore. Carter has learned how to read the guitar [...] Warning: [Doting Father Mode = On] Elijah won the Top Dog Award in his first grade class. There was an awards breakfast at school this morning. He was right pleased with himself. The whole family was able to go and we had a good time of it. The school does a Top Dog Award [...] As I drifted off the sleep at the end of watching the Star Trek DVD (in English; it’s now playing in French), I heard one of the boys cough in the other room. Wendy woke up and asked which one it was. I wasn’t sure, but reassured her that he’d not been coughing long. [...] Here’s a list of things that I’m looking forward to experiencing one day.
