Wow! The Easter Music Fireside is really coming together! It’s confirmed: we’ll be performing Rutter’s Requiem. It’s a real leap of faith, but I’m encouraged by the early response from the Stake musicians. I have 15 singers confirmed already. As expected, still a little short on mens voices. But I have a lead on all 3 needed solo instruments.
I ordered 30 copies of the piano reduction score today. Should (better) arrive next week. First rehearsal on 07 Feb.
Started making the project WBS today to capture all the work: lots of communication, program notes, CD purchase options, library management for the music, instrumental scores and management, etc. Lots of work. 7 rehearsal weeks.
What is it they say? If you’re 6 months behind on a deliverable that’s due the next morning and you’re still convinced you can pull it off and deliver it, you’re a project manager!
