The starter is doing great. I didn’t discard any tonight so that we’ll have enough for some Sourdough Pancakes in the morning.
While I have the white starter in such good shape, and just now fed, I’m going to try my hand at dyring and freezing some. Well, drying tonight. Found instructions by Carl, the one credited with this starter, linked from the starter’s site, www.CarlsFriends.org.
Will let you know how the drying goes in a few days after it dries and I try to revive it from dry as a test.
Soon, I’ll separate the starter again to convert it to whole grain. I really like the starter maintained on rye flour. But I have to get my Vita-Mix back from refurb or receive my new BlendTec mixer so that I can grind the whole grain flour before I can make that conversion. One or both of them should arrive next week.
