I’ve just launched my new professional blog, CottagePM.com! I’m very excited about it. For those getting this on my personal blog, I don’t know how much a Project Management blog will mean to you, but I thought I’d share it anyway.
I certified PMP (Project Management Professional) earlier this year, and since then I’ve been doing things to share that skill set more broadly at work, both as a matter of training and coaching, and introducing new processes and thinking in the organization. In that process, I’ve been able to understand even better my experiences in project management, why some things worked and some things didn’t. Part of that learning is captured in the idea of Cottage Project Management. I’ve coined that term to refer to project management as it is used in smaller organizations and teams, people doing cool projects even if they’re not building airplanes or rockets or bridges or buildings. As a result, the principles, processes, and tools we use need to be simpler, more focused, and more appropriate for the kinds of projects we do. I’m exploring those ideas on CottagePM.com.
Come by for a visit! But you can keep getting my personal blog updates here at www.MaxWalker.name.
