I ordered a Robocut (www.haircut.com) in September 2006. I use it a lot on me and the boys. Good success. I like it.
Today, I cut my hair OK, but as I was cutting Elijah’s, the Robocut got louder and louder (clackety clack). Right as I finished his cut, it stopped working. The motor engaged, but the blades wouldn’t turn, and it was loud. I figured the motor shaft stripped out. I took the blades out of the Robocut to see if they were stuck, but had no success fixing it.
I hunted and hunted and couldn’t find my receipt or packing slip or anything. Finally, I gave up and called them hoping that they’d have my order and would honor warranty. I called. I didn’t even have to offer up purchase date, receipt, or anything. The fellow asked for my name, found my customer record quickly, saw the purchase date. I described the problem and my troubleshooting. He agreed with my conclusion. Luckily, the gear box is replaceable. He’s shipping one out for free.
Dude! This was great customer service. I’m very happy. Robocuts are now $50 instead of $80. You ought to consider one.

Same thing happened to us, just yesterday. We purchased our Robocut about 1 month after you did. We have had ours a bit longer than you, now, but we got the same quality fast service. The customer service rep told us they would have our new gear box, with instuctions, shipped out immediately and we should have it in a couple of days. Great service! This is the first time we have had any trouble with this product.
